Marinox Sky Villas in Tanjung Tokong is the first high-rise residential development in Penang to achieve the Green Building Index (GBI) Provisional Gold Rating. Sustainability is integral to the landscape design approach, where environmental responsibility is seamlessly woven into spatial experience and everyday living.
A key landscape feature is the continuous green ramp, which connects the ground-level landscape to the podium garden above. This design not only enhances visual continuity and accessibility, but also promotes inclusivity through a barrier-free, user-friendly circulation system.
The podium landscape introduces a floating gym concept, where a shallow water feature envelops the gym pavilion, softening the architectural form and creating a calming microclimate. Water becomes both a visual and sensory element, enhancing the wellness experience while mitigating the intensity of the built environment.
Contrasting landscape expressions define the project’s spatial narrative. The podium garden adopts a minimalist language of clean, linear geometry, while the ground-level landscape embraces organic, meandering forms inspired by natural movement. This deliberate contrast offers residents diverse spatial experiences—balancing structure with fluidity, and order with nature.
Through thoughtful layering of form, accessibility, and ecological sensitivity, the landscape design at Marinox Sky Villas demonstrates how sustainable principles can enhance both environmental performance and quality of life in high-rise living.
